General Advice - Making The Leap!

We can keep this section brief because fundamentally the decision is yours. We can help to get you on the right track but at the end of the day only you can tell if it is right to start looking for new employment.

Before actually doing anything ask yourself a few questions. What are you gaining from your current position? How much are your skills being utilised? Are you giving more than you’re receiving? What do you want to achieve? How are you going to do that? What’s your ideal job? How much does your current position match up to that?

When thinking these questions through keep logical and rational. Chat it through with relevant people and don’t be hasty!

If and when you decide you want to move on, stop and think. Before you rush into handing in your notice assess what time of year it’s best to do it. The important factors to consider are bonuses and other salary features, any remaining holiday you have and if your timing would be detrimental to current company projects. Put your own interests first but be considerate of those who chose to employ you last time round! We also advise you to be sure of where you’re moving onto before you handing in your notice. Receiving a confirmation letter should proceed handing in your notice.

Changing job shouldn’t be stressful so approach it steadily and you’ll know the best option for you.
